When we communicate with the other, we express our
thought and feelings not only through the word
we choose. Communication consist of verbal communication and non verbal
communication. Body language is important part of non-verbal communication.
Body language includes many difference aspect of our every day physical behavior, for example our the way we
position our arms and legs our use hand
and eyes and the other. Sometime, culture differences in appropriate body
language can cause discomfort or
misunderstanding too. For example , there are definite cultural difference in
how much distance should be kept between two people who are speaking together.
Another common example of misunderstanding is use of smile. In some Asian cultures, a smile can
show embarrassment or apology, but not in English speaking culture Even speaker of the same language, such as
British, American, or Australian people, may not use the same body language.
American are considered more open and outgoing while Australians are seen as
casual and relaxed.
